Having been posting on Instagram and Facebook for a couple of years on my Lego based accounts and over a decade on my personal account, and having been toying with this website for a couple of years I thought it was about time I had some kind of consistent logo to make it obvious that they are all part of the same family.
So after a little research I found that there were quite a few cost effective sites to use online, where I could you with ideas and designs or get a more unique design by paying a small premium.
After quite a bit of searching and trial and error I narrowed down my ideas, I wanted something to represent my love of beer or rum, and obviously the pirate theme, and if possible combine that with Lego or at least make it a fun logo. After a great deal more searching I found what I thought was the ideal logo.
I really liked the beer glass design with the pirate eyepatch, and decided to curve the text around the logo, as I wasn’t keen on the linear text design.
I thouggt about trying to add a brick build background to it, hoping to add in the Lego aspect, but I thought it was a bit too much in the end.
This left me chewing over a colour scheme, so I made several different ones up and used Instagram to do some market research, by doing some polls.
The results all seemed to favour a black background, with various main colours. The favourite being yellow, closely followed by orange. Therefore I decided to go with yellow for the main logo colour for my Lego based content and orange for the beer related content.
I really like the logo design and think it will look good in many different colour schemes in the future depending on what I’m using it for. Hope you like it too.
